Charl Schwartzel gave the master a finish that it deserved.

On an incredible Sunday at Augusta National, where the roars came from everywhere and for everyone and did not stop until it was over, Schwartzel has emerged from the madness by becoming the first champion of the Masters to close with four straight birdies.

Indeed, this last tour was everything.

For the first time a charge by Tiger Woods fist-pumping, which wiped out a seven-shot deficit in nine holes only go flat on the back nine. Then came the stunning collapse of 21 years Rory McIlroy, who put his name to masters lore for the wrong reasons.

Still leading by a coup he led on the back nine, hit McIlroy a shot side left tee 10th hole cabins and twice struck a tree to make triple bogey. He three-launcher 7 feet for bogey on 11, four-launcher about 12 feet on the next hole and buried his head in his forearm as the shock starts to move.

McIlroy shot 80, the highest final round by the Chief 54 holes since Ken Venturi in 1956. Not since Jean Van de Velde at Carnoustie was someone blown at least a four-shot lead entering the last round of the major.

Wild was this afternoon carry you than eight players had at least a share of the lead on some points in the back nine. The strong hand came from Schwartzel, whose only bogey came on the fourth hole that this Masters was just to warm up.

He gets tumultuous as behind the 15th green for birdie to bind briefly for the lead, only for Scott to stuff his tee shot in 2 upcoming feet on the 16th by-3. Schwartzel responded with a 15-foot birdie to catch Scott at the top of the classification of the new.

Then came the pivot 17, where Schwartzel made a birdie from 10 feet. It was the first time, he was the head to himself all day, and he finished off the coast in the style.

The South Africans now have won two of the last three majors, following Louis Oosthuizen, winning in St. Andrews, last summer. It came on the 50th anniversary of Gary Player, becoming the first international player to win the Masters.

"I am absolutely delighted for Charl and the South Africa." Congratulations and well done to him. This is how you finish like a champion! "Player said on Twitter.

In many respects, this looked more like 1986 when Jack Nicklaus loaded on the back nine to win a sixth green jacket on a cast of the pretenders fame. It is twice as many opportunities for this Masters, however, wood and former champion masters Angel Cabrera, Geoff Ogilvy and Luke Donald, K.J. Choi and Bo Van Pelt, who made two eagles on the back nine.
