ANKARA, Turkey - Turkish A ship evacuating hundreds of wounded from the Libya arrived Aegean side of Turkey Tuesday where a field hospital scrambled to provide emergency treatment.

Hospital transformed ferry injured residents of the besieged Libyan city Misrata and the stronghold of rebels in Benghazi for treatment in hospitals through the West of the Turkey. Over 160 ambulances were waiting.

Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ahmet Davutoglu, has declared Monday that the secure Turkey a temporary ceasefire in Misrata through the intense "telephone diplomacy" over the weekend that allowed the ship pick up the wounded. Misrata, 125 miles (200 km) southeast of the capital, Tripoli, have been largely cut off from the world for weeks.

Health Minister Recep Akdag Tuesday said "secure the ceasefire was critical" for the operation. It was only intended to allow safe passage of Turkish ferry in and out of the Libyan ports and is not part of the ceasefire agreement that attempts to Turkey to negotiate between Gaddafi and the opposition, officials said.

The ferry is carrying 321 wounded and 108 other Libyan accompanying. The boat which transported medical supplies in Libya, is also back with 29 foreigners, including those of the Greece, the Ukraine, Great Britain, Uzbekistan, Germany and Finland and dozens of Turks.

"The Turkey has become a leader country" in providing humanitarian aid, worldwide Akdag told journalists at the port of Cesme, as he waited for the arrival.

The Turkish Government has funded the trip and the Turkish Red Crescent and Islamic aid group HHI has provided staff and supplies. Twelve Turkish jets and a frigate provides protection for the ferry.

The Turkey evacuated 25,000 Turkish workers and more than 6 000 foreign Libya since he has succumbed to the chaos.
